Good Heavens is the creation of graphic designer, Matthew, and illustrator Katrin, who both hail from Cape Town. By fusing their joint love for textiles, and their admiration for their grandfathers’ sartorial traditions, the duo have created an all – cotton necktie range, with a difference. Using an array of fabrics from Liberty Lawn to Shweshwe fabric (a traditional South African textile), GH came about when Matthew took an old dress of Katrin’s and transformed it into a tie he wore to a friends wedding. ‘We decided to name it ‘Good Heavens’ as it’s one of our favourite expressions’ says Matthew.
